APRIL 11, 2012
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter VII, Section 5 of the Putnam Town Charter, the Board of Finance of the Town of Putnam will hold a public hearing in the auditorium of the Putnam Middle School, 33 Wicker Street, (Israel Putnam Way) Putnam, Connecticut, on estimates of the revenues and expenditures of the Town of Putnam for fiscal year July 1, 2012, to June 30, 2013, on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.
All persons who wish to speak on any item in the proposed budget for fiscal year 2012?2013, or who may wish to recommend consideration by the governing officials of additional items or the rejection of items will be heard.
Copies of the detailed budgets for the General Government, Library, Board of Education, and Town Aid Roads will be available in the Mayor’s Office, Town Clerk’s Office, and the Board of Education on Monday, April 2, 2012.

The Town of Putnam Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a meeting on April 17, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall located at 126 Church Street, Putnam, CT. A public hearing will be held on the following:
Appeal # 2012-005: Fidelis Holdings, Ltd. — Request for variances from the Town of Putnam Zoning Regulations Section 730 for property located at 111 and 115 Woodstock Avenue on a non-conforming lot of record with two residences in order to split the lot so that each residence is on its own lot. The applicant request for 115 Woodstock Avenue is a reduction of one side yard from 15 feet to approximately 2.50 feet and for 111 Woodstock Avenue a reduction of one side yard from 15 feet to approximately 2.50 feet and a reduction of minimum lot size requirement from 7,000 sq. ft. to approximately 3,840 sq. ft. Property noted by location Town Assessor’s Map 007, Lot 327. Zoned R-7.

Town of Pomfret
The Town of Pomfret adopted the following ordinance at the Special Town Meeting of March 22, 2012: “Ordinance to Establish an Agricultural Commission”. Said ordinance shall become effective April 16, 2012, or fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper having a general circulation in the Town of Pomfret.
In summary: The ordinance establishes an Agricultural Commission which shall be electors of the Town of Pomfret and appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The Agricultural Commission will act in an advisory capacity to the Board of Selectmen and other Boards and Commissions and extol the role of agriculture as it contributes to Pomfret’s quality of life, environment, and economy. The Commission will advocate for all agriculture before non-profit agencies, civic organizations, municipal boards and commissions, elected official and non-farm residents. The Commission will adhere to and promote Pomfret’s “Right to Farm” ordinance while fostering public awareness of local agriculture and how it enhances and preserves the rural character of the Town. The Commission shall follow the “Pomfret Agriculture Commission Charge” as reviewed and approved by the AGvocate Group and the Board of Selectmen. The ordinance also establishes the terms of service, organization of officers, and the procedures to fill vacancies and remove any member for cause. The Commission shall adopt rules for the transaction of business, keep public records of its activities and make an annual report to the Board of Selectmen. This document is prepared for the benefit of the public, solely for purposes of information, summarization and explanation. This document does not represent the intent of the legislative body of the Town of Pomfret for any purpose.
A copy of the adopted ordinance is available for public inspection in the Pomfret Town Clerk’s Office, Five Haven Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259.

The Commission shall adopt rules for the transaction of business, keep public records of its activities and make an annual report to the Board of Selectmen. Itemized estimates of the expenditures of the Putnam Special Services District for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 will be presented.
