Winners
PUTNAM --- Rumor has it the fish bite better when it's raining. Or when it's not. More than 80 kids joined the Rotary Club's annual fishing derby at Rotary Park.
Prize winners included:
Smallest fish: Emily St.Martin.
Largest fish - 5 and younger: David Mynahan, 7.62 lb. carp; ages 6-9: Daniel Pratt, 9.56 lb. carp; age 10-12: Cody Cheever, 2.77 lb. carp; age 13-15: Josh Knoll, 10.5 oz. catfish.
Most fish caught: Hayden Field (3); Jose Ruiz (3) and Cody/Nick Cheever (2).
Highest total weight - all categories: First: Daniel Pratt; second: Hayden Field.
Twenty four fish were entered including: five small-mouth bass, seven carp, six catfish, 2 pumpkin seeds, two sunfish and two trout.
