PUTNAM --- After months of negotiations, one of downtown Putnam's gems was sold.
The L-shaped building, 75-85 Main and 37-39 Front, house 85 Main restaurant, Bella's Bistro and Martini Bar, Silver Circle Gallery, Elan, an antique shop and several hundred square feet of space.
According to Putnam Town Hall records, May 17 Santo Arcuri, a member of Putnam Development Corporation LLC of Putnam, owner of the property, "in consideration of $600,000," transferred to Union & Main LLC ,75-85 Main Street and 37-39 Front Street.
Union & Main LLC, according to the Connecticut Secretary of State Business division filings, is based on Deerfield road in Pomfret Center and registered with the state April 12, 2012. Barry Jessurun and Brian Jessurun, both of Pomfret Center, are listed as two members of the domestic limited liability corporation. The Jessurun brothers are owners of Vanilla Bean Cafe and are also listed as members of Jambribar LLC which owns the 85 Main restaurant business, along with James Martin. Martin could not be reached for comment. Barry Jessurun is listed as a member and CFO of Jambribar and Brian Jessurun is listed as a Jambribar member. Martin is listed as a member and as manager.
One piece, 75-85 Main, comprises .06 acres, and the Front Street piece contains .35 acres.
Union & Main LLC obtained a loan from Citizens National Bank for $600,000. Because Citizens National would have the first mortgage, various subordination agreements were also filed in Town Hall including Jambribar LLC, Bella's Gourmet Market LLC, and Johanne Bates and Chris Therrien for Elan.
