PUTNAM --- The common theme at 135th Putnam High School graduation June 9 was unlimited potential.
Principal Paul Brenton told the capacity audience of cheering friends and family that this class , one of the smallest to graduate PHS, was a "truly talented class." As he looked across the sea of graduates' faces, he said it was difficult not to find a student that had not made Putnam a better place. Board of Education member J. Scott Pempek challenged graduates to "do and dare." Singers Krysten Breault and Jessica Simpson sang "Breaking Free" which includes the uplifting phrase "There's not a star in heaven we can't reach."
Awards included: Valedictory Award to Kevin Bieger; Salutatory Award to Gunnar Anderson. Other awards included: Citizen of the Year, Debra Pratt; Educator of the Year, Brian Germain; Student of the Year, Megan Heaney.
