The wedding of Jessica Lyn DiZazzo, daughter of Christy and Louise DiZazzo, and Jeffrey, Allan Rawson, son of Allan and Kathy Rawson, both of Putnam, unfolded June 16 under ideal New England weather conditions. Among the more than 250 guests was the maternal grandmother of the groom, Madeleine Welch and the paternal grandparents of the groom Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rawson and the bride’s paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Chris DiZazzo.
The nuptials and reception were held on the finely manicured Rawson family property on Chase Road in E. Putnam. Prior to the ceremony, officiated by Justice of the Peace Richard Loomis, a moment of silence was observed in memory of grandparents of the bride, Betty and Ernest Taylor, and grandfather of the groom, Robert Welch.
The bride and groom exchanged solemn and meaningful vows, which were written by wedding officiant Loomis. The bride wore a white full-length wedding gown, while her attendants wore matching knee-length pink flared cocktail dresses. The groom and his attendants wore open collar resort casual white shirts and off-white trousers.
Jessica DiZazzo was assisted by Matrons of Honor Michele Brezniak and Julie Parquette, close friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kelly Brochu, sister-in-law of the bride, and Heather Paine and Sarah Desjardin, friends of the bride. Jeffrey Rawson was attended by groomsmen, KJ Rawson, brother of the groom, Jarrod DiZazzo and Gill Brochu, brothers of the bride, and Mike Heidelberger, Neil Bernier, Ryan Wade and Kyle Gibbons, friends of the groom.
The wedding party processional entered to the music of Canon in D. The bride made her entrance to the traditional Wedding March. The couple exited to the reception line to the tune "Happy Girl."
In their toasts later Matron of Honor Michele Brezniak and groomsman Mike Heidelberger offered words of congratulations and encouragement, with reminiscences of their friendships with the couple. Guests were then treated to cocktails and hors d’oeuvres prior to dinner, which was catered by G Seven Caterers of Thompson. Guests danced the evening away to the music of tuxedo-clad Upbeat DJ, featuring former WINY Radio personality Greg Bugbee and ESPN personality Josh Walsh. As a gift to the guests, the couple made a $616.12 donation to The Arc of Quinebaug Valley and Northeast Opportunities for Wellness.
The honeymoon was in Hawaii.
