PUTNAM — Thomas A. Borner, president of the Putnam Bank Foundation, recently announced the following foundation grant awards: $1,000 to The Last Green Valley 2012 Walktober Program. $1,000 to The Joshua Center Northeast of Natchaug Hospital; $1,000 to The Furniture Bank of Southeastern Connecticut, Gales Ferry; $1,250 to Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters, Putnam school mentoring programs; $500 to United Services, Inc., Young Adult Services Food Pantry Program; $500 to Windham County 4-H Foundation, Inc., summer camperships; $500 to the Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Eastern Connecticut; and $880 to the Society of the Founders of Norwich,  Leffingwell House Museum. 
“Putnam Bank established the Foundation in 2004 as  a charitable extension of its commitment to the communities the bank has served since 1862.   We feel we have a responsibility to not only provide products and services but also to enhance  the quality of life in the communities where we and our customers live and work”,  Borner said.
