Despite the early rain, the Main Street Car Cruise spread its wings throughout Putnam Aug. 12 with hundreds of cars and thousands of visitors. Top left: Cars lined up on Kennedy Drive. Right: '55 Chevy. Lower left: Raindrops on a '46 Ford. Below: Mayor Pete Place holds up the first Arc of Quinebaug Valley duck. The current pushed the ducks downstream and the wind pushed them upstream. It took a long while for a duck to make it to the winner's chute. Arc story on page 11.
