PUTNAM — The Connecticut State Department of Education has designated Putnam Elementary School as a School of Distinction. Putnam Elementary was noted as a School of Distinction with 17 other Connecticut schools for making the highest progress toward achieving the state’s School Performance Index (SPI) benchmark of 88. The Connecticut State Department of Education designated just 78 schools of the 1271 public schools in Connecticut as Schools of Distinction in three categories.
William Hull, Putnam Superintendent, said, “Having Putnam Elementary designated as a School of Distinction is indeed an honor for the entire district. This designation speaks to the hard work and dedication of the district’s staff. It is an affirmation of Putnam Public Schools’ commitment to excellence.”
