The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) is seeking proposals from qualified respondents to provide GIS and Project Coordinator services for a regional pilot program that will effectively engage family forest landowners. The goal of this project, which is consistent with the management plan for The Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor, is to strengthen forest stewardship and conserve the many values of the region’s landscape for future generations. This project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Forest Service through the North East State Foresters Association, working collaboratively with local partners like TLGV.
TLGV seeks a GIS specialist who can create a map and landowner database for the Tri-Corner focus area of Thompson, Putnam, and Killingly, Douglas, Mass., and Burrillville, Glocester, Foster and Scituate, R.I.
TLGV also seeks a Project Coordinator to assist
with all aspects of the pilot project. The Project Coordinator will work with the GIS Specialist, TLGV staff, and many partner organizations to develop a “Woodland Ambassador” network in the Tri-Corner focus area. The Last Green Valley is a National Heritage Corridor – the last stretch of dark night sky in the coastal sprawl between Boston and Washington, D.C. A dynamic nonprofit organization, TLGV is a steward of that special place, working to celebrate our heritage, conserve our natural resources and respect our working lands.
