PUTNAM — Why did Melissa Buckheit, LMT, recently open her business Atlantic Orthopedic Massage and Integrated Bodywork in Putnam Heights?
“I am a Buddhist (although I was raised Catholic), so I suppose my choice of work (non-profit, massage, dance teaching) is centered around my larger belief in abating the suffering of the world. Heady stuff, I suppose—but it is the truth.”
She has an extensive education in massage, bodywork therapy and many other related outcome-based therapies.
She has been practicing massage and bodywork therapy for 16 years in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Arizona. “I came to massage because I wanted to bring pain relief, body awareness, and balance to people in a way which honors each person’s individual pathway to healing as well as the stories their body carries.”
