WOODSTOCK --- With 50 of years of history standing in front of them, the 274 graduates of Woodstock Academy looked forward and back. Four members of the academy's class of 1963 led the graduates to commencement, along with the First Company governor's Food Guard and the Manchester Pipe Band.
The speaker was Brian Dennehy, actor and father of graduate Sarah Eilish Dennehy. Elijah Evans Martin was the valedictorian and Bridget Elizabeth Matsas was the salutatorian.
The class of 2013 will have the flagpole area redone as a class gift. On a lighter note, the tradition continued: Graduates usually exchange a small gift for their diplomas. This year the gift was small leis, to be forwarded to Kim Caron, outgoing headmaster.
