WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Board of Education will present a community forum on Common Core, from 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Middle School cafeteria. Question and answer period included. Refreshments and child care. All welcome.
The community forum concept springs from the board’s Community Participation subcommittee, which seeks to enhance and expand communication between the community and the BOE.  In addition to the community forums, the subcommittee recently unveiled a new Woodstock Public Schools website.  Members include Cliff Davis (Chair), Julie Woodland, and Steve Rosendahl.
BOE Chair Michael Bernardi stated, “Developing the best possible education for Woodstock students is this Board of Education’s top mission.  I sincerely hope members of the community will take this opportunity to learn about the Common Core standards and share their thoughts and suggestions about security and any other topics with the Board of Education in this informal setting.  The students are the big winners when the community, the Board, and the Administration collaborate to solve problems.”
