TOLLAND --- "Introduction to French-Canadian Genealogical Research,” a free public seminar, will be presented at 7 p.m. in the French-Canadian Genealogical Society of Connecticut’s library in the Old County Courthouse on Tolland Green. Fund-raiser Concert
CANTERBURY --- The Canterbury Historical Society Bluegrass Concert Fund-raiser featuring the spinney Brothers and Bear Minimum will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Community room at the town Hall. Concert
THOMPSON --- There will be a free organ concert at the Thompson Congregational Church, UCC, at 3 p.m. The recital will be given by world-renowned organist, Dr. Stuart Forster, Organist and Music Director of Christ Church in Cambridge, Mass. A free will offering will be received and there will be a reception after the concert.

Program
DANIELSON --- QVCC will hold a brief Veterans’ Day ceremony at 2 p.m. at the college’s veterans’ garden. The ceremony will include the dedication of 19 new brick pavers, each one honoring a veteran.  Interested persons can download an order form from the QVCC website (qvcc.edu/veterans/forms.asp), or can pick one up in the Office of Student Affairs at the Danielson Campus. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held in the Fireside Lounge in the event of inclement weather. A reception will follow. PLAINFIELD --- The Deborah Avery Putnam Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will hold its chapter meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Plainfield Senior Center. History Program
POMFRET ---  The Pomfret Public Library will present "Pomfret: Through the Years - 300 years of History of Pomfret" at 7 p.m. at the library. Author Walter Hinchman, who serves as the town historian, compiled a book on Pomfret's history.  All proceeds from the book will support the work of the Pomfret Historical Society.
