NECONN Girls
The NECONN Girls U-9 Travel Team just recently concluded their 2013 Fall Schedule with an impressive 7-0 regular season. The girls scored 34 goals while allowing only 2. They compete in the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association which includes teams from Ellington, Coventry, Stafford, Marlborough, WAM (Willington, Ashford, Mansfield), Tolland, QVSA (Brooklyn, Plainfield), Hebron, Columbia. “This team was a pleasure to coach, they worked together, got along very well and had an amazing competitive spirit for such a young team,” said head coach Brad Favreau. “This year’s team comprised of girls from Putnam, Woodstock and Pomfret, which bonded very quickly. That aspect alone makes this group very special. ”NECONN consists of players from Eastford, Woodstock, Thompson, Pomfret and Putnam. The Comp teams play a Fall and Spring schedule and compete in tournaments as well. The players on this year’s team were: Meredith Bergendahl, Kara Lynn Hebert, Bailey Touchette, Skylar Egan, Kyndal Murawski, Sydney Schuler, Kayla Morrison, Maggie Hart, Grace Gelhaus and Lennon Favreau.
