CHEPACHET --- At 2:30 p.m. the Music at the Meeting House at the Chepachet Baptist Church on Rt. 44 will mark the 150th anniversary of the end of the American Civil War with a concert featuring the historic Providence Brigade Band (chartered in 1847), one of the country's oldest and most famous performers of authentic Civil War music. Veterans Ceremony
DANIELSON ---  Quinebaug Valley Community College will hold its annual Veterans’ Day ceremony at 2 p.m. at the college’s Veterans’ Garden on the Danielson Campus. The ceremony will include the dedication of the new bricks each honoring a veteran. Almost 400 bricks already lay in the Veterans’ Garden which was created in 2010 with the goal of having a place where local veterans could be honored and remembered.  Since then, the garden has grown from a simple brick walkway, to plants via horticulture advice from Masters Gardner Service, and a memorial bench.
