Robyn C. Leo
POMFRET — Robyn C. Leo, 64, of Holmes Rd., died June 1, 2021, in Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Born in 1957 in Webster, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Pelletier) Mikolajczak.
After completing her BSN at Worcester State College in 1982, Robyn completed her MS in Maternal Child Nursing at UConn in 1984.
Shifting from clinical work to education, Robyn taught as a tenured nursing professor for more than 25 years and past department chairperson at Worcester State University.
She was celebrated for her creative teaching approach and commitment to diversity.
To family and friends, Robyn was sociable, thoughtful, and creative.
She was an active member of the Quiet Corner Garden Club and a passionate Osprey Steward for the CT Audubon Society.
She loved the ocean, cooking, singing, scrapbooking and crafting. She knew how to bring people together and was a board member of the New England chapter of Families with Children from China for many years. Robyn made sepia tones look like Technicolor (she loved The Wizard of Oz) and now our lives are less colorful.
She leaves her daughters Dr. Hannah Pei Leo and her partner Dr. Kevin Guzman of San Francisco, and Hallie Lin Leo of Pomfret; her brother, James J. Mikolajczak (Dr. Leslie Harrold) of Northborough, Mass.; her sister, Patrice E. Bernier of Thompson; nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. June 9 in Valade Funeral Home & Crematory, 23 Main St., N. Grosvenordale.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. June 10 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Webster with private burial in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery.
