LOOS & COMPANY DONATES $500
POMFRET — Loos & Company in Pomfret presented a $500 check to the Danielson
United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
In less than a month, Loos & Company has donated $2,500 total.
When Loos & Co. employees receive their COVID-19 vaccine, a $50 contribution is made to the general donation fund and the employees were asked to recommend local organizations to receive donations.
Loos Buyer Debra Thurlow, who has attended services at the church for over 30 years, said, “I’m really glad Loos is helping a local church in need by donating.”
The Danielson United Methodist Church Food Pantry offers free hot meals every Wednesday through the Community Kitchens of Northeastern Connecticut program.
Deacon and Food Pantry Board Member Barbara Schreier said the donation will be added to the fuel assistance fund.
“The community has been very generous,” Schreier said. “Our donors know that people are out of work, struggling, and still need to eat. And they know they need to help.”
Donations were also recently given to the Pomfret Community/Senior Center, the Danielson Veterans Coffeehouse, the Putnam Daily Bread Food Pantry and the Norwich St. Vincent de Paul Place.
