Pike honored
DAYVILLE — Amanda Pike was named Employee of the Month in May at Country Living at Westview Commons’ Employee of the Month award in May. She has worked in the Support Services department at the 75-unit independent and assisted living facility in Dayville since October of 2021.
She graduated from Killingly High School and holds a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate from QVCC.  Amanda’s general responsibilities at Westview Commons include vacuuming the hallways, tidying the guest restrooms, and resetting the residential units during a room changeover.  While doing her job she is also developing kindred relations with the residents in her care.
Comfort in senior settings has long been an asset of  Pike’s.  When she was growing up, she would often go trick-or-treating at nursing facilities, and this seeded an early appreciation for the seniors in her community.
She and her two sons Ryan and Donnie live in Sterling. Her mother Kathy and her father Ron are strong inspirations and influences in her life, and she adores any chance she can get to be with her grandparents, Pauline and Ron.  Amanda is an ardent supporter of “Sterling Family Day.” Creative crafts and drawing have long been expressive outlets for her to relax and she frequently finds opportunities to sketch whatever is on her mind.  Westview Commons Executive Vice President David T. Panteleakos said: “We want to provide our residents with a lifestyle they deserve from the moment they walk in our doors through the moment they place their heads on their pillows—and Amanda does a phenomenal job maintaining that expectation in our Support Services department.”
