Maureen M. Miners
WINDHAM — Maureen M. (Castin) Miners, 79, formerly of Roseland Park Road, Woodstock, died Oct. 23, 2022, at St. Joseph Living Center. Born in July 1943 in Long Branch, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Moore and Martha (Tucker) Castin.
Maureen was well-known in the community for her career in real estate, dating back to the late 1970s. She founded The Beeches Real Estate in South Woodstock in the mid-‘80s, which she owned for more than 35 years. Maureen was dedicated to her profession and committed to serving her clientele. At one time she was also the director of the ski school at the legendary O Ho Ho Ski Area.
Maureen was a long standing volunteer with the Benson-Flugel American Legion Post 111 at its Woodstock Fair concession booth on Labor Day weekends. She was also a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Pomfret.
She leaves her daughter, Kimberly A. Steirer (Jeffrey) of Northampton, Penn.; granddaughter, Emma Steirer and her fiancé, Matthew; grandson Will Steirer; and her son, William J. Miners III (Andrea) of Madison, N.H. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Florence Donahue and June Castin.
