Joan Bly
PUTNAM — Joan Bly, 61, wife of Timothy Bly, died Nov. 30, 2022, at home.
Joan was born July 1961 in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of late Richard and Alice (Jasiewicz) Stepanik and was raised on her family farm in Agawam, Mass.
Joan dedicated over 35 years working in the healthcare at Day Kimball Hospital. She loved traveling, motorcycle rides, watching New England Sports, and reading.
She leaves her husband Timothy Bly of Putnam; her children: Andrew Scanlon (Jeanne) of Putnam, Dennis Scanlon of Grosvenordale, Katherine Handy (Dylan) of W. Burke, Vt., Matthew Bly (Amelia) of Rotterdam, N.Y., and Alexander Bly of Denver; her grandchildren Natalia, Walter, and Henry; her brothers Richard Stepanik (Karrie) and William Stepanik. She was predeceased by her parents and mother-in-law Patricia Bly.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 9 in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam. Jerzy Michalowski
PUTNAM — Jerzy Michalowski, 79, of Putnam, died peacefully Dec. 8, 2022, at home after an illness.
He was born on Aug. 28, 1943, in Poland, son of the late Aleksander Michalowski and Janina (Sokolowska) Michalowski. He moved to the U.S. in 1984. He enjoyed talking to people, helping them and watching political channels.
He was the husband of Halina (Kurpiel) Michalowski. In addition to his wife he leaves his sister Celina Michalowska; brother Antoni Michalowski (Jadwiga); sister-in-law Maria Michalowska, all of Poland, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his sister Wieslawa Michalowska and by his brother Stefan Michalowski.
The Funeral Mass was Dec. 13 in St. Joseph Basilica, Webster with burial in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, Webster.
