'Village Spellers'
The team from Gerardi Insurance, dressed as the Village People - YMCA, won the best costumes at the annual QVCC Foundation fourth annual spelling bee last week. More than $15,000 was raised for the QVCC Foundation. Twenty teams competed for the grand prize — bragging rights and the opportunity to host the travelling trophy for one year. The 2013 prize winners: 1st place The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame (Marc Cerrone, Chris Charron, Rhona Free, Jimmy Weigel); second place: Pomfret School; 3rd place: QVCC Faculty and Staff.
