WOODSTOCK — Senior forward Lindsey Weigand from the girls’ basketball team was named the Sweet Evalina’s Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 20-26.
In a big game against Windham High School, Weigand was a key figure in the Centaurs 46-35 victory. Lindsey had 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in that game. That victory brought Woodstock Academy one game closer to qualifying for the post-season tournament. The girls’ team stands at seven wins on the season which is only one game shy of making the post season tournament.
Jan. 25, the girls’ basketball team travelled to New London to take on the Whalers. Lindsey Weigand had another outstanding game keeping the Centaurs in striking distance of New London throughout the night. Lindsey finished the game with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
