6th smash/grab
PUTNAM — After the sixth smash and grab Putnam police reminded residents to keep vehicles locked with purses, bags or other valuables completely out of sight and stored in trunks or glove boxes.
Oct. 13 the Putnam Police Department answered a call from the parking lot of the Kennedy Drive Farmers Market/Dog Park for a smash-and-grab car burglary. A purse was stolen.
Over the past two months, this is the sixth smash and grab car burglary reported to the Putnam Police Department, all of which have occurred in the various parking areas along Kennedy Drive and the River Trail.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact the Putnam Police Department at 860-928-6565, through the tip line at 860-963-0000 or via the website at www.putnampolice.com.

The following charges were listed in the Putnam Police Department logs.  The people charged are innocent until proven guilty in court. The Town Crier will publish dispositions of cases at the request of the accused. The dispositions must be accompanied by the proper documentation. Michael A. Hogarty, 39, Playground Drive, Woodstock; sixth-degree larceny, second-degree breach of peace.
Oct. 15
Kyle Loomis, 25, Park Street, Putnam; disorderly conduct.

Solomon family donates to DKH
NE CT cancer fund
PUTNAM — The Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund of Day Kimball Healthcare was the recent recipient of a $2,000 donation by the Solomon family in memory of their family member and 2018 NECT Cancer Fund Angel Ambassador, Shannon Labonte.
She died of a rare form of cancer on April 27, 2018.  Kristen Willis, director of Development, said: “The Solomon family’s ongoing support has been instrumental in keeping Shannon’s memory alive and aiding those in need through the NECT Cancer Fund of DKH. Their dedication is deeply appreciated, and we express our deepest gratitude for their generosity and commitment to supporting the NECT Cancer Fund of DKH. This fund provides financial assistance to residents of northeastern Connecticut who may not have the financial resources to access necessary medical care.”
