WOODSTOCK — American Legion Woodstock Post 111 held a successful membership recruitment breakfast Aug. 29. Ronald P. Coderre, American Legion District #4 Commander, said two veterans took applications to join. Also helping with the recruitment breakfast were: Post Commander Glenn Boies, Rich DeLarosa and Bill Celko.

Savings bank to open
branch in Putnam
JEWETT CITY — Jewett City Savings Bank will open a new branch in Riverfront Commons on Kennedy Drive in Putnam in late summer.
The 1500- square foot office features full-service personal and business banking along with a 24-hour walk-up ATM and night depository.
The branch staff will be led by Branch Manager Amanda Heibel and Branch Supervisor Celina Shippee who together, bring 17 years of experience in retail banking to their new roles. Heibel, who joined Jewett City Savings Bank in 2008, has served in various customer service roles, most recently as assistant branch manager of the bank’s main office in Jewett City. Shippee, who joined the bank in 2015, most recently served as branch supervisor of the bank’s Brooklyn branch.
