busy stretch
PUTNAM — The Putnam Science Academy Varsity and Prep soccer teams have had a busy stretch of games, showing both resilience and competitive spirit as they take on challenging opponents.
Varsity Soccer:
Currently holding a 4-3 record, the Varsity team has faced tough competition in its recent matchups. Oct. 17, they played a hard-fought match against St. Thomas More (STM) but came up short, losing 2-1. Caio da Silva scored the lone goal for PSA, keeping the match close until the final whistle.
The Varsity team returned to the field on Oct. 18 against Woodstock, looking to bounce back. Despite a strong offensive effort, they narrowly lost 4-3. Adria Bartomeu was one of the standout performers, scoring a goal. The Varsity boys continue to battle through their season, showing grit as they look to turn their record around.
Prep Soccer:
Meanwhile, PSA’s Prep team has shown more consistency, holding a 2-2-1 record. Oct. 14, the team faced American International College and secured a dominant 4-1 victory. Pedro Rosa led the charge with two goals, while Guilherme Vieira and Tanaka Makechemu each added a goal to cap off the impressive win.
