PUTNAM --- The Putnam Bank Foundation is supporting The Last Green Valley’s 20th annual “Walktober” event with a $1000 donation.
“Walktober,” a premier outreach program of The Last Green Valley, Inc, creates unique experiences for local residents and visitors to enjoy the Quinebaug and Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor (better known as The Last Green Valley) by providing knowledgeable guides for enhanced value and access to areas throughout the region that are not always available to the public.  Walktober lasts throughout October and provides guided walks, paddles, bike rides and special events that create the opportunity for fun family time, exercise and appreciating the wonder and beauty that comprise The Last Green Valley.
“At Putnam Bank, we welcome the opportunity to support The Last Green Valley in their mission and to help them as they remind us of the significant beauty of our community, particularly during the breathtaking autumn foliage,“ said Thomas A. Borner, Putnam Bank chairman and CEO.  “We see the Walktober program as a wonderful way to support the values of family and community that are integral to our core community bank values.”
It is the mission of The Last Green Valley, Inc to conserve, celebrate, and enhance the significant historical, cultural, natural and scenic resources of the Last Green Valley while promoting a quality of life based on a strong, healthy, economy compatible with the region’s character.
