Several students earned awards at Pomfret School’s Academic Convocation held Sept. 11. Awards presented are from achievements earned during the prior school year in each discipline. These awards are given at the beginning of the year to celebrate the opening of school and academic achievement. Honored: Harrison Schroder ’13, of Woodstock, for Geometry Honors, Spanish I, English I, The Benjamin B. Morgan Science Award which is awarded to that Third Form science student who has excelled and shown an innate curiosity and desire to explore science; and Form III Top Scholar; Ian Crouse ’12, of Woodstock Valley, for Algebra II Honors; Robert Motley ’13, of Woodstock, for History I and Physics Foundation; Lydia Rosenfield ’12, of Woodstock, for History II; Holly Williams ’11, of Pomfret, for Religion; Taylor Sulik ’13, of Danielson, for Latin I; Shay Gingras ’12, of Eastford, for Latin II; Isabelle Lofquist ’12, of Danielson, for Spanish II; Hannah Leo ’11, of Thompson, for English III, Dance, the Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges Sponsor Award which is awarded to an outstanding junior who combines excellence in scholarship and high character, combined with achievements in other fields; and Form V Top Scholar; Ronald LaBeef ’12, of Pomfret, for Chemistry; Avery Lamb ’11, of Brooklyn, for Theatre and Music; Dana Ouellet ’11, of Pomfret, for Theatre; Mackenzie Bond ’12, of Brooklyn, for Music; Dylan O’Hara ’13, of Woodstock, for Form III Second Top Scholar.
