The Putnam Lions Volleyball Challenge fund-raiser is on again for February. Here's a winning team from last year's intense competition.
PUTNAM — On Feb. 5 and 6 the Putnam Lions will present its annual “Putnam Lions Volleyball Challenge” at the Pomfret School.
This is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the Putnam Lions.
Bernie Gilbert, chairman of the Volleyball Challenge, said “We are currently looking for Co-ed teams to play on both days. The Saturday competition allows full spiking rules and has an A and B division. Sunday is the corporate division which does not allow spiking. All players will receive a tournament T-shirt with major sponsors listed. Free food and giveaways are provided for all players and there are incentives to all players to bring in pledges.”
