THOMPSON --- Marianapolis boys' varsity basketball team won three games and lost one in its quest to make the semifinals.
Win against Vermont
After a couple snow outs the Golden Knights finally got back on the court when they traveled to Vermont Academy on Feb. 4.
The Golden Knights had to fight through some adversity and a long bus ride to get the win in this NEPSAC AA match up but that’s exactly what they did. Trailing 24-23 going into halftime Marianapolis rallied in the second half and left Vermont with a 59-54 win to improve to 14-6 on the season. Marianapolis was led by Ousmane Drame 19 points 12 rebounds and Zach Chionuma 17 points. 
Falls to St. Andrews
Feb. 9 Marianapolis took on NEPSAC AA rival St. Andrews. This game was the tale of two halfs for Marianapolis. The first half saw Mari
anapolis with a lot of energy and build a 28-19 halftime lead.
The second half was the opposite as the visitors would score 50 second half points to drop the Knights 69-59 and drop their record to 14-8 on the year. Marianapolis was led by Zach Chionuma with 27 points.
Win Against Worcester
Feb. 14 Marianapolis faced off against Worcester Academy in a NEPSAC AA contest. This one was all Marianapolis from the start as the home team would build a 37-20 halftime lead and never look back as the rolled to the 68-51 victory to improve to 15-8 on the year. Marianapolis was led by Zach Chionuma 20 points, Eddie Capstick and Bobby Ahearn with 11 points a piece.
Dominates Brimmer & May
The Golden Knights were back in action Feb. 16 against Brimmer & May.
The second game of the week for the Knights the second straight dominating performance as well. Marianapolis jumped all over the visitors from Boston in the first half and never let up as they took a 45-30 lead into the break. Led by Zach Chionuma 21 points and Kristian Medina 17 points the Knights improved to 16-8 with the 97-68 victory.
