Bark for Life
raises nearly $5K
PUTNAM --- The third annual Bark for Life, a fund-raiser sponsored by the Citizens National Bank to benefit the Relay For Life of Northeastern Connecticut, raised nearly $5,000, according to Shanon Sabourin, the Bark for Life co-chair. Her co-chair is Sue Srednicki.
The vendors and crafters taking part numbered 25, she said. There were 125 dogs and 200 taking part, she added.
The Bark for Life event honors the role dogs play to humans battling cancer and also honors animals that have battle or lost the fight to cancer themselves. Last year there were 150 dogs and more than 200 people, she said.
