PUTNAM — The Putnam Board of Education appointed Jacqueline Vetrovec of Rhode Island as assistant principal at Putnam High School.
Vetrovec is currently a mathematics teacher and mathematics department chairperson at Chariho High School in Wood River Junction, R.I.
She supervises a department of 14 staff members. She was hired to take the place of Joseph Ptaszynski who was recently appointed Putnam High School’s new principal.
Vetrovec has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a sixth-year advanced certificate in education administration from Sacred Heart University. After first working as an engineer, Vetrovec entered teaching in 1999.
William Hull, Putnam superintendent, said, “We were happy to have a large pool of wonderful
applicants for the position. The district is indeed fortunate to be able to hire someone of
Jacqueline’s caliber. She will be a great addition to the Putnam family.”
