PUTNAM --- The Putnam High School girls' basketball team took home two wins last week.
PHS 48 N. Tech 19
Jan. 4 Putnam jumped out to a 13-4 first quarter lead and never looked back in route to a 48-19 victory at Norwich tech. Putnam was lead by Ashley Espinosa with 19 points , while Monica Phongsda had 9 and Cynthia Briere had 6. Seven players scored for Putnam which improves to 7-2 on the season and Norwich Tech falls to 1-7.
PHS 53 Grasso Tech 8
The game was never in doubt as Putnam took a 14-2 first quarter lead and finished with a 53-8 outcome. Putnam was lead by Ashley Espinosa with 16 and Alexis Rogers had 7 while Monica Phongsa and Makenzi Kaylor chipped in with 7 each. Putnam had 9 players who scored and raised their record to 6-2 on the season. Grasso fell to 0-6.
