WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Academy Sweet Evalina’s Athletes of the Week for Dec. 30 - Jan. 5 include:
For the girls, junior track star Sarah Swenson from the indoor track team. With a time of 44.10 seconds, Sarah Swenson took first place out of 27 athletes in the 300 meter race which took place at Northbridge High School on Wednesday 1/2/13. Athletes competed from Uxbridge, Millbury, Auburn, Grafton, Bartlett, Southbridge, and Quaboag and Sarah Swenson from Woodstock Academy topped them all.
The boys top athlete was senior Ian Converse from the boys’ basketball team. Converse has been one of the prolific players in the Eastern Connecticut Conference this season. He is currently ranked 7th in the Conference in scoring averaging 22 points per game. He has consistently been the high scorer and high rebounder for the Centaurs. Feb. 4 against Bacon Academy, he led the team with 25 points and 15 rebounds - another double-double.
