PUTNAM — Putnam Ford served up a hearty dose of holiday cheer Dec. 13 when President Rick Place and employees came together to host their 13th annual “Christmas is for Kids” party for children and families involved in local human services programs.
This year the party hosted about 75 children and adults from United Services’ human service programs, including the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group, Domestic Violence Program and other family oriented programs.
The evening’s festivities included caroling, snacks, holiday storytelling and guest appearances by the Cat in the Hat, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus, who provided a gift for each child.
Over the last 13 years Rick Place and the employees of Putnam Ford have hosted hundreds of children and families for this very special holiday party.
“We’re very grateful to Putnam Ford for their support in providing a happy, memorable experience for the children and families we serve, particularly during the holiday season” said John Goodman, director of development and communications at United Services.  “Our mission is to create healthy communities here in northeast Connecticut and the support of area businesses is vital to that effort, during the holidays and all year long.
