Special guitar
program set
PUTNAM — In an effort to bring all kinds of programs to the Putnam Public Library, including music, Jim Lenn will present Ovation Guitars from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 8, at the library. To register call 860-963-6826.
Lenn said the Ovation Guitar was made right here in Connecticut and it “saved the singer/songwriter movement of the ‘60s and ‘70s”. Lenn will demonstrate through images, stories and live music.
He’s had many years of professional experience in both the recording industry and live performance.
He will be happy to answer questions following his program.
Lenn grew up in Southern California and started playing music at the age of 8. He was deeply involved in the South Bay music scene during the influential ‘60s. He moved to the East Coast in 2000 and played in the local folk/gospel group East of Nashville for 6 years and then joined the popular country group The Truckstop Troubadours for a two year stint before starting the New England Ukulele Ensemble. He is still performing locally, as a solo performer and is director and one of the founding members of the Kinetic Ukes ukulele performance ensemble of Simsbury.
