Jog With Judy

WOODSTOCK --- May 4 the 8th annual Jog With Judy 5-K Road race will take off from Roseland Park Road at 10 a.m.
The race is a fund-raiser that celebrates Judy Nilan who was murdered Dec. 5, 2005. She had been a social worker at Woodstock Middle School.
Organizers said Nilan devoted her time at WMS focusing on character building and drug/alcohol prevention programs. Her goal was to help students through th sometimes difficult middle school years.
The programs funded by the Jog With Judy include Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education (DARE) (grade 5), Camp Woodstock Team Building (grades five and six); Girl Power (open to grades five through eight); Changing Hearts and Minds, a motivational speech; Courage to Speak (parent presentation and grades six, seven and eight); Looking In Theatre and more.

Last year more than 700 took part. Runners and walkers are still welcome. People can register online at www.thelastmileracing.com or they can register the day of the race. Day of registration is $25 with no promise of a shirt.
