POMFRET — Coinciding with September’s opening day, the faculty and students at Pomfret School ushered in the 2013-14 academic year at the School’s annual Convocation ceremony, and applauded returning students receiving awards for outstanding academic performance in the 2012-13 school year.
Honored were: Alicia Brisson of Pomfret Center, a member of the Pomfret class of 2014, received the History Department’s U.S. History prize (one of two to receive the honor) and the College of the Holy Cross Book Award.
Rebecca Pempek of Putnam, a member of the Pomfret class of 2016, received the First in Class Form Scholar for the Class of 2016 and the World Languages Department’s Latin I prize.
Annie Vance of Danielson, a member of the Pomfret class of 2016, received the Fine Arts Department Ceramics prize.
William Wong of North Grosvenordale, a member of the Pomfret class of 2014, received the Fine Arts Department Theatre prize, and the Science Departmet’s Biology prize.
