PUTNAM — In its role as supporter of the arts, the Putnam Arts Council recently funded a sign for the Empty Spaces Project’s storefront gallery downtown.
The Empty Spaces Project, a new gallery on Main Street created by Paul Toussaint and Ann Monteiro, needed help identifying their space.
“It turns out that Putnam is the most supportive and inclusive community to grow a business in. We are thrilled to be here, on Main Street, watching the downtown develop into a thriving artistic and economic community. The Putnam Arts Council has given us the greatest compliment by voting to finance our new signage. Our mission to support our community by promoting an artistic economy and filling empty spaces with art now has a home.” Ann Monteiro Empty Spaces Project managing director.
The Empty Space Project present a new art show each month; information on gallery hours and upcoming show is available at www.facebook.com/TheEmptySpacesProjectPutnamCt
The mission of the Putnam Arts Council is to increase, support and promote cultural development and access to the arts, culture and heritage in order to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality of Putnam.
