Puppet Program
The Putnam Elks Lodge presented $2,000 to The Arc’s Kids on the Block Program. Recently installed Exalted Ruler Lysa Molnar presented the check to The Arc’s Executive Director Susan Desrosiers, and Board President Jeff Rawson, last August at WINY Radio.
PUTNAM — The Putnam Elks Lodge received a $2,000 Gratitude Grant which they presented to The Arc of Quinebaug Valley to use for The Arc’s Kids on the Block puppet program.
The Kids on the Block will be heading to the Putnam Lodge for “Pizza and Puppetry” from noon to 2 p.m. May 4 in the upstairs hall of Elks Grove on Edmond Street. The event is free and open to all youth in grades three through five from Putnam, Thompson, Eastford, Pomfret and Woodstock. Pizza and games will be presented at noon and the performance is at 1.
The Arc’s National Kids on the Block program promoting “Different is OK” will include skits teaching acceptance of children who are blind, have downs syndrome and cerebral palsy.
