WOODSTOCK — SPIROL Charitable Foundation recently awarded Woodstock Academy a $50,000 grant to improve the school’s Chemistry Labs.
Woodstock Academy strives to provide students with a top 21st century learning experience and hopes to enhance its Chemistry program by updating facilities to meet the needs of classes. The Academy will remodel its existing chemistry lab and an existing science room into Combination Classroom and Labs (CLAB) to offer two state-of-the-art chemistry classrooms for students.
“The Academy currently has one chemistry lab that limits the abilities of students to work and learn daily in a lab environment, which is the purpose of any chemistry program,” Headmaster Chris Sandford said. “Thanks to the incredible support of the SPIROL Charitable Foundation, we will be able to renovate and create two labs to completely prepare our students for life after high school.”
The new CLABs will include top-of-the-line equipment and furniture, which will allow for maximum space efficiency, a comfortable interactive group-learning environment, and a safe and durable lab space.
“SPIROL is very fortunate and excited to be able to help Woodstock Academy fulfill its mission of maintaining the highest academic standards,” stated Jeff Koehl, chairman of SPIROL International Company. “The SPIROL Charitable Foundation is committed to funding educational initiatives from building capital projects such as Woodstock Academy’s Chemistry Laboratories to scholarships for deserving local residents. SPIROL is particularly interested in nurturing students in the STEM curriculum, and therefore enthusiastically supported this initiative when approached by the Academy.”
