WORCESTER — Ashley Stanley of Thompson, a junior majoring in management information systems at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), recently completed an intense, hands-on research project in Moscow. The project was titled Identifying Moscow Students’ Career Choice Motivations.
 
Internship
WILLIMANTIC — Eastern Connecticut State University student Matthew Witkowski ’16 of North Grosvenordale is working as an intern for Cigna. Witkowski’s major is Business Information Systems.
Witkowski is functioning as an information management (IM) security analyst. He is performing security audits for IM assets and improving role-based access controls to align with the enterprise access management tool. He has also created several dashboards for security metrics for IM.
His favorite part of the internship is working with his passion, new technology. “My internship will help me build a solid foundation upon which I can build my career. It will provide me with the basics about how a large global firm does business and operates,” said Witkowski.
Witkowski has already accepted a job offer with Cigna. 
 
Service
WILLIMANTIC — Eastern Connecticut State University students are required to complete hours of service learning for their classes.
Jessica Boyle ’18 of Danielson is participating in service learning during the fall 2015 semester. Boyle’s major is Pre-Social Work and Sociology.
Amber Brunelle ’19 of North Grosvenordale is participating in service learning during the fall 2015 semester. Brunelle’s major is Pre-Social Work.

Johanna Kolat ’16 of Putnam is participating in service learning during the fall 2015 semester. Kolat’s major is Sociology.
Jacquelyn Orlowski ’19 of Woodstock is participating in service learning during the fall 2015 semester. Orlowski’s major is Pre-Elementary Education and Liberal Studies.

WILLIMANTIC — The Eastern Connecticut State University Percussion Ensemble recently presented their fall concert in Shafer Auditorium. Mackenzie Muscara ’18 of Dayville was one of the students who performed in the concert. Muscara’s major is music.
