For the first time in the Tom Espinosa era at Putnam Science Academy a pair of cousins will grace the Mustangs roster.
In an announcement on July 13 by coach Espinosa, the Mustangs unveiled the arrival of 5-foot, 11-inch point guard Jordan Pettway of Bridgeport.
Earlier in the recruitment season Putnam Science Academy announced the signing of Tanahj Pettway of Worcester by way of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass.
The two are cousins who hail from a very strong bloodline of basketball players.
Jordan Pettway is a 2016 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Fairfield. In his senior year he led ND to the Class M CIAC finals, while averaging 15 points and seven rebounds per game.
He comes to the Maple Street campus with sterling credentials, which include All State selection in 2015 and 2016.
“Jordan is an exciting player with the rock in his hands. He certainly boosts the competition at our point guard position. It’s an interesting scenario having cousins in the program at the same time,” said Espinosa.
