PUTNAM — Putnam Science Academy has a new face in town as they return from holiday break as Kentrevious Jones, a 6-foot, 11-inch, 300-pound senior from Macon, Ga., has enrolled for the second half of the year.
After a strong summer with the Atlanta Express on the Under Armor AAU circuit Jones had numerous Division I offers. He decided to end his recruitment in the fall as he signed his National Letter of Intent to Big East powerhouse Xavier. He will be completing his high school career in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut with the Mustangs before heading there next fall.
On the court Jones will look to add a boost to an already loaded frontline that includes fellow Big East commit Darnell Brodie (Seton Hall), Isaac Kante, Alexis Yetna and Malik Ondigo. Putnam Science Head Coach Thomas Espinosa said Jones is a great fit as they look for continued success in the new year. “Kentrevious has great upside on the basketball court and off of it he is very well spoken young man who will fit right into the Putnam community.”
