PUTNAM — A Putnam woman was arrested on heroin charges March 1 the vehicle she was in was stopped for traffic violations.
Nicole Dumas, 44, of 92 Powhattan St. was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to sell.
The Troop D Quality of Life Task Force and Troop D patrol said a car was stopped on Rt. 171 in Woodstock March 1. Troopers said they interviewed all three occupants and became suspicious criminal activity was taking place.
They said Dumas admitted to troopers that she had heroin on her person. Dumas turned over approximately 50 bags of heroin pre-packaged for sale.
A second passenger in the car, Scott Duquette, 38, of 192 Providence St., Putnam, was arrested after it was discovered that two Violation of Probation warrants existed for his arrest.
