Groundbreaking
April 27, State Representative Pat Boyd (D-50) accompanied Pomfret community members to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new addition to the Pomfret Fire Station. The station extension will provide more room for training and store firefighter equipment. The space will also act as a home base for volunteer firefighters during their time between emergency calls. The structure itself will connect to the back of the firehouse and will be an estimated size of one-third of the station’s current size. It is funded with a STEAP grant of $200,000 and money was allocated by the Pomfret Fire District. The project addition should be completed over the summer.
