PUTNAM — The Putnam Science Academy girls' basketball team has added another recruit, this time from one of the most successful programs in Massachusetts. Sha’raya Haines of Springfield Central has decided to spend a post grad year at PSA this coming fall. 

Haines’s arrival follows a stellar senior year where she averaged 12.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. Her biggest performance came in the State Final against Braintree where she scored 20 points and hit four second half three’s to lead her team to the State title.  During her senior year, Haines collected a number of accolades. She was named a Valley League All-Star, Western Mass Division I 1st team and the Mass Live All-Western Mass 2nd team. She was also named the Mass Live Student Athlete of the Week following her performance in the State Championship victory over Braintree.
