PUTNAM —Derek Marchione, head coach of the Putnam Science Academy women’s basketball team, announced two additions to the this seasons roster. First was Aislinn Flynn, a 6-foot, 1-inch forward from Long Island where she finished her high school career at Long Island Lutheran. Flynn will be joining PSA as a post-grad.
“Aislinn comes from a very successful and well-coached high school program. Despite missing part of her senior year to injury, she still had a number of offers from Division 1 schools, but wanted time to make sure she found the right fit. This extra year will go a long way towards her development,: he said.
The second addition is Kayla Robinson from St. Anthony (New York). The 5-7 guard is transferring to PSA and will be re-classifying from the Class of 2018 to 2019. This past season, Robinson led the Friars to the CHSAA Championship while earning the MVP honors.
“Kayla is a very talented young lady. Offensively she is a point, but because her ability to shoot it from outside and defend multiple positions, she can slide to the two. Her recruiting has started to pick up lately and I think this is a great move for her,” Marchione said.
