Book donations may be dropped off during regular library hours until noon Sept. 29. Hard cover and paperback books gladly accepted. Large print books and DVDs are in demand. Race/Walk

POMFRET --- The 10th Annual Abolish Breast Cancer 5K Race/Walk will be held at Pomfret Recreation Park. Registration is at 8, the race is at 10 and walkers start after runners. Flu Shots

PLAINFIELD --- The Northeast District Department of Health will hold a Drive-Thru flu clinic from 1 to 3 p.m. at Plainfield High School on Rt. 12, Central Village. 100 free flu shots will be available to people ages 18 and over.
