Seniors raise funds
PUTNAM β The Putnam High School graduating class of 2018 raised $300 for hurricane relief with a recent car wash.
The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), which Putnam High School is a member, challenged all member schools to support relief efforts for schools which suffered losses over the past month of devastating weather in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, St. Croix and the British Virgin Islands.
The Class of 2018 heard about the challenge, organized a car wash and donated their proceeds of $300 to support the CAS efforts. The graduating class recognized that they can make a difference in the lives of students beyond the borders of Connecticut; children who will find this lifeline invaluable.
Superintendent William Hull said: βIt is wonderful that our students see themselves as part of a larger community. In many ways, learning this is as important as any academic lesson. The entire school district is proud of the class of 2018.β
