A 22-point second quarter blitz by the Wolverines proved to be too much for the Centaurs who lost to Griswold in Jewett City Oct. 20, 41-13.

The Centaurs (2-4) played the Wolverines tough in the first quarter, allowing just one Griswold score. But the Wolverines (4-2), winners of their last three games, poured it on in the second quarter to take the 28-point halftime lead.

The Academy scored both of its touchdowns in the third quarter.

Kameron Janice (17 carries, 126 yards) rushed for his 16th touchdown of the season and Derek Thompson (2-for-13 passing, 32 yards) hit Jacob Straub for a 28-yard touchdown pass.

Straub also led the defense for the Centaurs with seven tackles.

The Academy is back in action at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 when it takes on rival Quinebaug Valley (2-4) at the St.Marie-Greenhalgh Field in Putnam.

OLD LYME— Jack Gelhaus scored his fifth goal of the season and Eli Child added his second to help the Centaurs finish the regular season with a 10-5-1 record. Gelhaus scored on a free kick halfway through the first half. Child added the insurance goal 10 minutes into the second half from 25 yards out.

WOODSTOCK — The Centaurs celebrated Senior Day Oct. 25 with a pair of first half-goals that held up in a win over the Whippets. Will Schad scored his first goal of the season to give the Centaurs (9-5-1) the early lead. A Jack Gelhaus free kick (8th assist of the season) was headed into the net by Cole Hackett for his second goal of the year to put The Academy up by two goals at the half.

Alfonso Villar scored for Windham (11-2-1) with 10 minutes left in regulation.

The Woodstock Academy lost leading scorer Jacopo Ambrosetti (16 goals) and midfielder Ethan Holcomb to injury in the first half, but still managed to score a 1-0 victory over Montville Ot. 16.

Jack Gelhaus scored his fourth goal of the season off an assist from Will Schad, his first of the year, as the Centaurs (8-5-1) finished with a 5-4-1 record in Division II of the Eastern Connecticut Conference. The Indians slipped to 4-8-1, 2-6-1.
